Football Skills

Libby from Central Football is coming in for a few sessions and teaching us some football skills. We had lots of fun playing a game and learning new skills at the same time.

Cycle Safety Fun.

We had lots of fun this week bringing our bikes to school. We are learning how to wear our helmets safely and learning cycle safety skills. Roll on the next 3 weeks of lessons!

Science Observations.

We have been learning how to make observations, look closely and describe what we can see. We used magnifying glasses to look closely at the palms of our hands. We made some amazing discoveries and enjoyed exploring the rest of our skin - healing scabs became a favourite! Mrs Cooper was amazed had how wrinkly her hand was! Ask us about what we noticed about our hands and skin.

Science Inquiry Work.

We have been learning all about our body and how to keep it happy and healthy. The children posed their own questions for inquiry, lots of them were based around the heart. We watched a You Tube clip of a real heart beating and we listened to the noise it makes when it beats. We decided to do some experiments on our own hearts. First we listened to our heart beating and to our learning partners. Next we went for a run, listened our hearts again and talked about what we noticed and what we could feel when we put our hand on our chests. So much excitement!!

Popcorn Fun!

We had a great time making popcorn at school. We got really excited listening to the popcorn machine whirring away. While it was cooking we had to use our senses and describe what we could see and hear. Then we got to use our taste buds and taste ... delicious! Come in and read our great popcorn stories in our storywriting books.

Symmetry fun.

We have been learning about symmetry in maths. During our maths time we went to the forest area and looked for the line of symmetry in our environment. Look at our photos and see which things we found are symmetrical and which aren't. Can you tell? Ask one of our Gecko experts!
